We want our children to have healthy and productive experiences in all of the buildings and homes they will live and work in. And we want our planet and its resources to thrive.
Green design and building means more to us than the design, construction and maintenance of high-performance environments. It's the shared belief that expertise and dedication will one day produce buildings that give more than they take – buildings that contribute to the well-being of both the ecology and economy of the communities they serve. Our dedication to sustainability is one of the many reasons why our simple, smart, sustaining solutions have received National recognition. Over the past several years we have had the opportunity to work on some of the most innovative projects in the Northwest. We have been privileged to provide the knowledge, the passion and the experience to help our clients both fulfill and exceed their sustainability and green building goals.
And to demonstrate our dedication to these principles, we designed and built out our design studio to demonstrate that green can be gorgeous, and achieved a LEED-CI Gold rating, missing only one credit that was attempted! Our studio has been honored to be showcased on the Idaho Energy and Green Building Conference tour in 2008, and we encourage visitors so that we can share our passion with them. Some of our internal green commitments include: comprehensive recycling, including batteries and fluorescent lamps; green purchasing standards for office supplies; over 90% Energy Star rated computers and equipment in our studio; green housekeeping with Green Seal certified products; donating outdated library materials to students and schools; and lots of carpooling and walking.
Sustainability doesn't end with green buildings. We work with clients to expand sustainability efforts into their on-going business practices. From corporate clients implementing meaningful strategies to reduce and off-set their carbon footprint to organizations defining, implementing and tracking sustainability strategies, we help make the transition to better practices for everyone.
